Submitting Your Report - The Most Basic Basics:

Participating in the Empire Report community of sharing is truly easy!

There are 4 (and a half) basic steps to submitting an "Empire Report" with text and an image:

A) Log In. If you haven't yet, create an account and log in to contribute.

1 - Create or "File a Report" (always a link on the homepage, upper left)

2 - Fill in the blanks: Title, Description, Body (all the rest is optional)

3 - SAVE your work The save button is at the bottom of your new report page.

4 - "Submit for Approval"  There is a dropdown menu called "State" - pull it down, and select "submit for approval" when your report is ready for editorial review.

Those are the basics.
Of course, this website can do MUCH more for a regular contributor.
If you are, or would like to become a regular participant, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with our more in-depth tutorials here:  Empire Report Tutorials

Empire Report is where YOU make the news.

You know what's important. You uniquely know what your friends like to see & read. Why not submit something and share a little bit about what you know best? It's a piece of cake.

At once iconic, the image of a newspaper on every driveway just isn't sustainable. Enter: Hyperlocal News.

Consider writing any length Empire Report

Empire Report will always be a fun project.  We're currently all volunteers around here, and it just isn't worth doing unless it's fun!

And, we're rewiting the rules of news.  It's exciting, and we'd sincerely like you to participate too.

As Empire Report grows and expands, we have all kinds of opportunities to do whatever we desire.   Whatever YOU desire.  Ever thought of having your own column in the newspaper?  Ever wanted to review restaurants?  Now is the perfect opportunity!

Empire Report is based on the core element: A "Report".

Anything can be a "report".  The vast majority of reports are freely contributed by your friends and neighbors.  Some Empire Reports, however, can be paid gigs.

EmpireReport.org intends to always make sponsorship & advertising useful and not in-your-face annoying.  And, we also know that quality journalists deserve quality pay.  That is actually what we're here for... and to generally improve news in our neighborhoods.  Every neighborhood has an underbelly that should have some light shed upon it.

Empire Report is a nonprofit.  Not a fat-cat corporation.  And we firmly believe that credibility is king

Want to write, but need to get PAID now?

Sure! Let's work something out!
