Penngrove Pub Robbery Fourth in Town
The Penngrove Pub robbery Monday morning brings the total in Penngrove's central district to four. For a town whose central district is one and a half blocks, this robbery trend is has the entire neighborhood concerned.
Penngrove Pub on Main Street in Penngrove was robbed between 4 and 5 am yesterday. When the bar was opened for cleaning at eight am, the back door had been opened, the ATM machine, cash register and cash bag all cleaned out.
The robber clearly had some familiarity with the layout of the Penngrove Pub. Initially, an inside job was suspected, because the back door was so masterfully manipulated that at first the door did not appear broken into at all. Besides opening the door, the robber also brought a drill to drill out the ATM machine and was able to access the back office to gain more access to cash.
The Penngrove Pub had surveillance cameras that captured the image of the robber; a short, white man in a ski mask and ski vest.
The woman responsible for cleaning the Pub in the morning at around 5am narrowly escaped the robber because she accidently slept in and was late to work. She was supposed to arrive at work about the time the robber was leaving but instead arrived a couple of hours later. She was the first to the scene of the robbery after the robbery.
She reports seeing a suspicious white locksmith van in the area.
As if Penngrove Pub’s robbery weren’t concerning enough, they are the fourth business in the tiny town of Penngrove to be robbed. Super Burger and Bauman College have all been robbed in the last few months [dates not confirmed yet]. Javamore has also been robbed.
Empire Report was unable to reach the police for comment, so a connection between the robberies was not confirmed.
